Marcy Harmon-Kim is a vibrant and talented hair stylist, mother of two, and a budding winemaker. She lives in the foothills of the Sierras, a couple hours north-east of San Francisco, in Northern California.
Having over fifteen years of experience styling hair from coast to coast, Marcy regularly works on clients each month in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York — as well as other locations by appointment. With the skills she's honed from her education at the DiPietro Todd Academy and Vidal Sassoon, Marcy's become known for crafting unique and engaging looks, before they hit the mainstream.
Using her extensive knowledge of past and present style trends — and an eye for leading edge fashion — Marcy shapes a client's look to be a creative extension of their own innate style.
Some of Marcy's clients include, Gisele, Zooey Deschanel, Katy Perry, Rooney Mara, Lily Allen, Florence Welsh (Florence and the Machine), Laurie Holden (Walking Dead), Britney Spears, Hayley Williams, Kylie Minogue, CL (K-pop star), Mia Wasikowska, Blake Griffin (L.A. Clippers), and many other talented artists and individuals.
Marcy's work has been featured in magazines around the globe. InStyle, Paper, People, Us, V, Rolling Stone, Elle, Marie Claire, Flaunt, The Hollywood Reporter, American Salon, Modern Salon, Launchpad, and Colorist Magazine have all written about Marcy's styling techniques.
With well over a decade of experience working in Hollywood, Marcy is regularly called upon to design hair for photoshoots, videos, and advertising campaigns for luxury brands worldwide. One of Marcy's favorite opportunities was styling wigs for the Iconoclast Collection, at the Prada store in London — it was a collaboration with her longtime friend and mentor, Danilo.
Marcy is a cutting, color and styling educator for hair — as well as a wig styling and extension specialist. She was mentored by Chad Robinson and Simon Smith at DiPietro Todd in San Francisco. Building from their expertise, she developed extensive skills in color matching and blending, which she continues to refine and experiment with in her work.
Now, having recently graduating from UCLA's wine program, and having moved back to Northern California — Marcy is learning the wine making process on her family farm, and enjoying the fruits of life in her new home of Placerville.
